Let me start by saying that I haven’t worn a backpack since the eighties, so it’s been a very long while since I’ve had the desire to strap my handbag behind me where I can’t see it. While there is comfort in holding or at least having your precious little purse within eyeshot, there is also something quite freeing about slinging your bag behind you and going out into the world. Hands free, and slightly devil may care, cause you never know what’s really going on behind you, now do you? Suffice it to say, I assumed it would take a LOT to make me desire a backpack, but somehow I have found myself here again. As a lover of all types of bags (except the ugly ones, sorry dahlings!) then I have to admit that I’m finding them crazyappealing. They are one part total nerd, right up there with knee socks and pencilshavings and one part outdoor adventurer. But just to be clear, this has absolutely nothing to do with smarts or scaling mountains, this is purely a fashion thang. Case in point: Moschino’s Leather Biker Jacket Backpack. Pure genius. Jeremy Scott, I’m right behind you on this one.
