Many moons ago when Barbie and I had regular dress-up sessions, I was particularly fascinated by her accessories. Teeny-tiny shoes and plastic purses. Beauty queen crowns. Minuscule hairbrushes and mirrors. I loved it all. But I guess I'm not the only one who understood the power of accessories for dollies. Laduree, the High Priest of Parisian Patisserie, is releasing its collaboration with Japanese cult brand Sonny Angel in the US and its enough to make any grown-up gal have a serious moment of doll envy. Talk about cute overload! Instead of accessorizing with pumps and purses, the new Sonny Angel dolls come topped with caps fashioned out of Laduree's signature macarons, bonnets made from berries and pate a choux and tiny colorful iced hats that match pretty cream-filled religeuses. These happy little characters remind me of how sweet life can be, even for those of us way past the age of playing doll.
