The Fall collection from Tricot Comme des Garcons entitled 'Blooming Flowers' is filled with designer Tao Kurihara's characteristic sweet but moody school-girls dressed in a mix of thick black woolens, jubilant patchwork florals and quilted nylon skirt suits. Heavy black scrunched-down ankle socks worn with flat mary-janes and knitted elbow-length gloves add funky polish to the quirky spirit of the collection. Topping it all off are Kurihara's odd, kooky-shaped hats that vaguely resemble Victorian frippery with a touch of Tim Burton. Thank goodness for the unique vision of Tao Kurihara. Her esoteric gestures give meaning to brave and beautiful, new expressions.
