MBMJ design duo Katie Hillier & Luella Bartley kicked some major sartorial ass today, so to speak. It's clear these ladies mean business. Fashion-business. Their third collection for Spring 2015 saw a continuation of serious street cred style with a jumble of looks that twisted layering throughout with arms and legs covered in latex skins, topped with tee-shirt dresses, plastic polka-dot skirts and teeny-tiny twisted bandeau tops for teeny-tiny ta-tas. Mis-matched dresses sprouted pleated half-tutus and random fabric mixes. And, why not? Fashion should be fun! Let's never forget that. Cool clothes demand cool accessories, and that's exactly what they got. Starting off with the frosted circular plastique purses that reminded me of old telephones from the 1970's, sans digits. Matching donut bracelets accompanied. Milky pastel rubber half-boots in creamy tones of peach, vanilla and powder blue gave a tough finish to the looks, even in their pretty-girl shades. Tall canvas lace-up Doc-Marten style boots, large flat disc clutches and pumped-up pastel velvet platform mary-janes jazzed their companion looks to kooky imperfect-perfection.
